I have read a bunch of Agatha Christie novels in 2025 and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. And I am continuing my goal of reading every Agatha Christie and that includes every Hercule Poirot novel, leading to me making a Hercule Poirot series guide and order article so you know where to start and what to read!
There are 39 total Hercule Poirot novels so you are in for a long adventure. And in 2013, the Christie Estate (Agatha Christie’s grandson owns the rights to her works) released new Poirot novels with the help of Sophie Hannah. We won’t be including those works but if you want to read even more Poirot novels, then you know where to look.
We will be focusing on the 39 novels written by Christie which might take a while to get through. There are over three times the number of Miss Marple novels and that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Poirot was considered the best fictional detective since Sherlock Holmes and was beloved by the public.
I enjoyed the Miss Marple novels but there is something about Poirot novels that make them hard to put down. The adventures often times include Poirot and his friend Arthur Hastings often get caught up in the mysteries they are trying to solve. You can see the full list below!

My Favorite Hercule Poirot Novel

With so many Hercule Poirot novels, it can be hard to choose a favorite. Murder on the Orient Express is one of my all time favorite Christie novels and one of the more popular Christie novels. But it has stiff competition with amazing novels like The A.B.C. Murders and Death on the Nile are just as good in my opinion.
My Least Favorite Hercule Poirot Novel
As of right now, I don’t have a least favorite Hercule Poirot novel. As I read more novels in the series, I am sure I will find one that I don’t like. There are almost 40 books so I am sure some of them will be misses in my opinion.
I am still reading this series and will update this article once I finish reading every Hercule Poirot novel. We have articles on the best Agatha Christie novels that you can check out here.
Conclusion
I am enjoying reading all the Poirot novels and seeing how different this series is from the Miss Marple series. It is no surprise that Christie is the most read author of all time. Every new Christie novel would have been a big event in the early and mid 1900s.
We have access to all her books and that alone can take years to get through all her works. The Hercule Poirot series is her most popular series and only after reading them will you see why Agatha Christie is considered the queen of mystery. Happy reading!
