Fans of historical fiction books will be excited about all the recent coverage this genre has been receiving on Books of Brilliance. And today, we will continue that with a look at new historical fiction books to check out this month!
Sometimes I will forget that there are other genres besides fantasy and mystery. Those are my most read genres and I will be focusing on diversifying my selection and coverage of books in the coming weeks.
And one genre that is already benefitting is historical fiction. There so many many great new and old historical fiction books and I haven’t been getting around to reading them as I should be. That is why we will be looking at four upcoming historical fiction books set to release this month. You can see the full list below!
New Historical Fiction Books
- Sing to Me by Jesse Browner
- The Rarest Fruit by Gaëlle Bélem
- 33 Place Brugmann by Alice Austen
- The Eights by Joanna Miller
In Sing to Me, Jesse Browner writes a story about the unknown lives lost in the Trojan War and the aftereffects of the war. This story focuses on a 11-year-old boy who is alone on his family farm with just a donkey to call his friend. I know I will be adding this novel to my reading list and you should too!
The Rarest Fruit tells the story about the island of Réunion that is off the east coast of Africa and is a territory of the French. It is known for its vanilla but what is forgotten is the story of how an illiterate boy figured out how to pollinate the vanilla orchids by hand, making it possible to export the flavor all over the world.
If you want to read a World War II novel, then 33 Place Brugmann is right up your alley. The novel is named after an apartment building but the events take place in various places, telling the story through six perspectives.
The Eights takes the true events of Oxford officially admitted its first class of female undergraduate in October 1920 and tells fictional stories of four young women who come to be known as the Eights because they live in adjacent rooms on Corridor Eight of St. Hugh’s College.
Conclusion
