Bestselling author and chart topper Emily Henry has announced the release date for her upcoming novel Great Big Beautiful Life. Find out everything you need to know about her latest novel and when it will be releasing!
The 2020s have been dominated by Emily Henry as her name has been everywhere. As someone that hasn’t her books, I often find myself impressed at how often she comes across my feed. Every year, one of her books is selling like crazy and stays on the charts until her next book is released.
That is still true has her latest release Funny Story is currently making the weekly bestseller lists as well as the weekly most read list every week. On top of that, Emily’s novel People We Meet On Vacation is getting a movie adaptation and her novel Happy Place is getting a TV adaptation.
On September 6th, Emily talked about her sixth novel in a newsletter and shared that this novel was the hardest to write for her.
“If you’ve been reading these letters for awhile now, you know that this book poured out of me, back in the winter/spring after the longest writing break I’d taken in a full decade. You might also have heard me in interviews talk about how hard this book has been since that first draft. (Very.) This book is different than anything I’ve written before but also feels like a really natural extension of what I’ve been doing the last few years. There is, of course, a love story and a vacation and complicated family dynamic and all the things I’ve always found myself drawn toward, but there’s also something else, and I’m both overjoyed and terrified to be able to share it more about it with you so soon”
Great Big Beautiful Life Release Date
If you know Emily Henry, then you know she releases one book a year and that makes sense for a multitude of reasons. Books take time to write and edit and rewrite until they are finally ready to be published. And you don’t want to compete with your own books by releasing them close to each other.
Great Big Beautiful Life will be releasing on April 22, 2025 and it is available for preorder. The book has no book cover or description as of yet but when it does, we will keep you updated! Henry did share what the book would be about with TODAY in April.
“It’s very much a love story, and there is a romance in it. But it feels like a slight departure, but in a way that I think will be really exciting to the readers,” Henry said. “It was the best first draft experience I’ve had since Beach Read, where writing the first draft, I felt so connected to the characters, and I was getting really emotional for them. And usually, I don’t really find that until later drafts.”
