Stars Feuding Leaves Fans Wondering If They Will Get It Starts With Us Movie

The success of the screen adaptation of It Ends With Us was a great sign that we were going to get the sequel It Starts With Us. But the drama surrounding the directors has cast a shadow on the future of this franchise. Will we be getting a screen adaptation of It Starts With Us? Keep reading to find out!

It Ends With Us Dominates the Box Office

When a movie becomes a box office hit, then the sequel is greenlit within weeks. And that was what was supposed to happen as It Ends With Us was a hit as the movie has made over $285 million globally. But things are never that simple and the drama that has surrounded the movie may ruin any chances we ever get a sequel.

Directors and stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively have been quarreling and it does not look like they will be reconciling. Rumors about their feud leaked early as they weren’t see together at the Aug. 6 New York premiere. Baldoni also didn’t introduce the film alongside Lively or Colleen Hoover. That is when people started wondering if there was something going on.

Then the leaks started happening and the picture became clear. The ending of the movie was something they disagreed with and Lively’s version was the one that was chosen for the movie. Lively is said to have told people that she felt Baldoni fat-shamed her. According to the source, Justin has a history of back problems and before a lifting scene, he went to his on-set trainer and asked how much Lively weighed and what he could do to protect his back.

In another scene in which the two actors kiss, Lively felt that Baldoni “lingered longer than he should have with the kiss.” These incidents have left the two actors and directors at odds and it has shadowed the success of the movie as fans wonder if there will be a sequel.

And this is where things get tricky. Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios owns both of the rights to “It Ends With Us” and “It Starts With Us” after acquiring them in 2019. At the time, Hoover said that she rejected many offers before eventually agreeing with Baldoni’s offer. “I felt like he understood the book and he understood the importance of people needing to see it on screen,” Hoover said.

That means that without Baldoni, there will be no sequel. As of right now, there has been little said about It Starts With us but we will get a clearer picture in the coming months. We will have to see if these two stars can reconcile or will Baldoni replace Lively. If I had to take a guess, I think Baldoni will most likely replace Lively as he has the rights and ultimately, the final call.
