Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262 Leaks and Update

The leaks for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262 came but they weren’t the usual leaks. We got only 7 panels this week and that is due to Gege Akutami falling sick. We will discuss the 7 panels released and what this means for the manga as well as when we will get the full chapter.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261, We saw Gojo return learned that Yuta is using his body using Kenjaju’s ability. At the end of the chapter, we saw both of them use their domain expansion and the second round of the fight between Gojo and Sukuna.

Yuta versus Sukuna

Chapter 262 starts off with Yuta using Unlimited Void and reducing its size to a basketball just like Gojo did. By making the domain smaller, Gojo’s domain was able to withstand Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine for about 3 mins. Yuta is able to do the same thing and we learn that this is possible because Yuta swapped his soul with Gojo to train with Gojo’s abilities.

My main concern was that Yuta would be too inexperienced with Gojo’s techniques but Gege has easily come up with a solution. Everything has been convenient for our heroes and it is good to know even the heroes have plot armor alongside Sukuna.

Sukuna reduces his cursed technique output to only surround Yuta’s barrier and has eliminated the 99 second limit. Yuta’s goal is to damage Sukuna enough so that he can’t maintain Malevolent Shrine and Sukuna’s plan is to destroy Infinite Void and expand his domain. They both give themselves under 3 minutes to accomplish this goal.

Yuta makes the first movie as he uses Blue to pull Sukuna but he counters by closing the distance and landing a hit on Yuta’s face. Yuta realized that Sukuna is also using Domain Amplification to penetrate through infinity so he can land his punches.

The final panel shows a fully manifested Rika with Yuta’s original body and Rika is grieving as she holds his lifeless body. The text says that “Rika has fully manifested….. But” The fact that she is with Yuta’s original body and not with Yuta in his new body means that she is bonded to the original Yuta’s body.

The chapter ends here and I believe this means that Yuta has to return to his body before the 5 minutes are up and Rika isn’t fully manifested anymore or Yuta will be stuck in Gojo’s body permanently. He can’t use Rika’s powers in Gojo’s body so this is the only time he will be able to return to his original body.

We know that both Yuta and Sukuna will try to end the domain battle in under 3 minutes. Yuta is trying to prevent Sukuna from using Malevolent Shrine. After he stops him, Yuta then has to defeat Sukuna but I highly doubt he will and will have to return to his body.

Conclusion

Gege is not feeling well and we won’t get any new chapters until two weeks later. That means that it will have been a month since the last chapter. Gege’s health comes first and fans should respect that. These things happen and we need to be patient. We got 7 panels and have a good idea of what will happen which is more than any of us expected. We will revisit this chapter in 2 weeks, see you then!
