Even More Must Read Books
Our first pick on this list was The Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling. Besides being one of the greatest book series of all time, the novels also tackle heavy issues such as death and depression. On the other end, the novels showcase how difficult and weird growing up can be and that with the aid of friends, there is always something to look forward to.
The second novel on the list is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Besides being one of the best selling novels of all time, the message the book has resonates with millions. What I love the most aboout the novel is that people can interpret the novel in different ways.
In this list, we decided to include fantasy novels as well as a science fiction novel. Dune by Frank Herbert and The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin are some of the best books in their genre and should be given a read even if those aren’t your favorite genre. Some writing transcends genres.
No list is complete without classics and in this list, we included some that didn’t make the previous list. Novels such as Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by by Maya Angelou. Three beautiful stories that everyone should give a read to see why these are regarded highly by many.

I don’t know what all the hoopla is about the Alchemist.
The Left Hand of Darkness seems especially relevant today.
I loved that book ! I would also recommend Cry the Beloved Country since that one is also seemingly relevant today.
I agree. It’s also a beautifully written book.
What is relevant about Cry the Beloved County?
I wonder if the book lists Ahaqir is mentioning almost daily, is an advertisement campaign for these books ??

A Night To Remember, Walter Lord’s classic about the sinking of the Titanic, is a definite must read

Walden is a nice pick but I would’ve picked Hemingway’s The Sun also Rises over his other books. 💁
Nice list and Walden is certainly a must but Id like to add The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Doyle and leave our all the Harry Potter books !

It’s not 20,00 Leagues Down the Sea, it’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. You should use the correct title. That’s a mistake that should not be made. Duh.
Strange how so many “must read” book lists include books that are consistently banned.
