The month of June has come and gone and I was able to read a good number of books. Many of them were recent releases but there was also a classic novel as well as thriller novel. Keep reading to find out what books I read in June 2023 and what I thought of them!
There is no system in place in how I choose books. I have a long reading list which is ever growing and I randomly choose one. Or sometimes I will start a book that I just came across a few hours ago. And sometimes I will be given an advanced copy of a book which has led to me finding a bunch of new books that I enjoyed a lot.
Books I Read in June 2023
- Storm Front (Virgil Flowers, #7) by John Sandford
- Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
- Antimatter Blues (Mickey7 #2) by Edward Ashton
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
- The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
The Metamorphosis
I decided to read The Metamorphosis because I came across it and realized I never read this short classic novel. It is an interesting read and it will have you thinking a lot afterwards. Kafka’s novel is brilliant and it is still debated to this day.
The House in the Cerulean Sea

This is a novel that has a book blurb that appeals to fantasy book lovers. And a beautiful book cover. I am glad I gave this novel a chance because it really puts you in your feels. Klune is a great writer and I am excited to see what he writes next!
Antimatter Blues
After reading Mickey7 earlier this year, I was glad to find out that there was a sequel. The second novel is a continuation of the first novel and picks up fast. Unlike the first novel, Ashton doesn’t have to explain every little thing and gets to focus more on world building.
Silver Nitrate
This is the novel that I received an advanced copy for and I did not know what to expect. Silver Nitrate is a horror novel that includes magic, Nazi’s, references to old movies, and it all takes place in Mexico City. If I had to choose one novel on this list that I am glad I read, it would be this. And I know I will be reading more books by Silva Moreno-Garcia in the near future.

Storm Front
Unlike all of the other novels on this list, I ended up reading this book by accident. That was a great mistake because I loved every second of this novel. I ended up reading this book in one day and I loved the pace, plot, characters, and the number of double crossings. If you are a fan of thriller novels, then this is a must read.
Conclusion
That ends the list of books I read in June 2023. Making time for books and looking back at it and seeing how productive I was feels good. Life can get busy and a good books can make you forget all your problems. Let’s hope July is also a good month. Happy reading!
