There is another Outlander story taking shape beyond Jamie and Claire’s final main-series novel. Diana Gabaldon is writing a prequel about Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie, under the tentative title A Bird in the Hand. It has no announced release date. Gabaldon says A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out, the tenth main Outlander novel, is her current writing priority, and that dates for the two books will be announced after she finishes them.
