Lauren Asher’s Dirty Air series turns the Formula One circuit into the setting for four connected romances. If you want the simplest reading order, start with Throttled, follow it with Collided and Wrecked, and finish with Redeemed. Each novel follows a different couple, so you can choose the premise that interests you most and still get a complete romance. Reading in order gives the returning characters and racing-world connections more room to land.

That is the order presented on Asher’s official books page. The publisher also identifies Collided and Wrecked as books two and three, respectively. Different covers and editions do not add books to the series.
1. Throttled
Throttled introduces Noah Slade, a Formula One champion, and Maya Alatorre, who plans to travel the race circuit while her brother Santiago competes. Noah’s position as Santiago’s teammate and rival makes the attraction immediately complicated. Maya also has plans of her own, which makes the relationship more than a simple paddock flirtation. On Asher’s page for Throttled, she calls it both a complete standalone and part of Dirty Air.
Start here if: You want to meet the racing circle from the beginning, or you like a romance complicated by family loyalty and team rivalry.
2. Collided
Collided follows Liam Zander and Sophie Mitchell. Liam is a celebrated driver; Sophie is trying to step outside the expectations that have shaped her life. A friendship and Sophie’s list of experiences create the opening for something more, while the international race calendar keeps bringing them together. Asher’s description of Collided puts their friendship, desire, and negotiations over Sophie’s list at the center of the story.
Start here if: You prefer a friendship that grows into romance, lively banter, and a heroine testing the boundaries of the life others expect her to lead.
3. Wrecked
In Wrecked, driver Jax Kingston’s destructive choices threaten his career. His team brings in Elena Gonzalez to manage his public image through the racing season, but their working relationship quickly becomes personal. This is the book to pick when you want greater emotional weight alongside the attraction. Asher’s Wrecked synopsis frames the story around Jax’s difficulties, Elena’s financial pressure, and their clashes while traveling together.
Start here if: You like an intense workplace dynamic, a difficult hero, and a romance that deals with personal recovery.
4. Redeemed
Redeemed focuses on Santiago Alatorre, Maya’s brother from Throttled. Following a life-changing crash, the former driver is grappling with a very different future. Chloe arrives in Italy with questions of her own, and their relationship becomes the emotional center of the fourth book. The publisher’s description of Redeemed places Santiago and Chloe’s story around Lake Como and the aftermath of his racing career.
Start here if: You want a romance about healing and rebuilding, though reading Throttled first will give you more context for Santiago and his family.
Do you have to read Dirty Air in order?
No. Each book gives its main couple a complete story, and the publisher describes Dirty Air as a series of interconnected standalones. If Wrecked or Collided sounds most appealing, you can start there.
For a first read through, publication order is still the best choice. You get to know the drivers and their wider circle as the series develops, and Santiago’s return to the center of the story in Redeemed has more context after Throttled. If you are skipping around, consider reading those two in that order.
Are Dirty Air and Dreamland Billionaires connected?
They are separate Lauren Asher series. Dirty Air follows Formula One romances, while Asher describes Dreamland Billionaires as romances about three billionaire brothers and a theme park empire. You do not need to read one series before the other.
Is there a fifth Dirty Air book?
As of September 24, 2026, Asher’s official series listing contains four novels. Her current writing schedule says there are no solid plans for a second-generation series about Marko and Stella; the untitled projects on that page should not be treated as a confirmed fifth Dirty Air book. Check her site for future announcements rather than relying on an unconfirmed release date.
Are there bonus stories or content warnings?
Yes. Asher offers an extended epilogue for each of the four novels. Save each one for after its corresponding book to avoid learning where that couple ends up ahead of time.
The series also covers serious subjects beneath its glamorous racing setting. Readers can check Asher’s book-by-book content warnings before choosing where to begin; the topics include abuse, grief, mental health difficulties, injury, and drug use across different installments.
