A Trade of Blood is the third installment in the series and was published by Del Rey on August 4, 2026. The publisher lists the novel at 400 pages, with ebook and audiobook editions released on the same date.
The mystery takes Ana and Din to the canton of Sapirdad, where two of the empire’s most powerful families are close to open conflict. The heir to one family has been accused of murdering the daughter of the other, and the evidence appears overwhelming.
Ana believes the accused man may be innocent. She and Din must discover the truth before the dispute becomes a wider conflict capable of threatening the empire and its food supply.
The investigation leads the pair through ranches, ranges and slaughterhouses while exposing another disturbing part of Khanum’s biologically engineered economy.
