Kin by Tayari Jones

There is a good chance you might recognize Tayari Jones. She wrote the award winning novel An American Marriage which was endorsed by Oprah. Now, after a difficult journey since then, she finally is set to release her newest novel Kin.
Vernice and Annie are both motherless daughters and have been best friends and neighbors since childhood. But life has different plans for them. Vernice is headed to college and joins a powerful sisterhood of Black women and learns what it means to wield power as a woman.
Annie chooses to search for her mother which leads her on a journey into the world. But it is a difficult journey and one that will come at a price and maybe even her life.
Why We Click by Kate Murphy

There are some people you meet and click with them instantly. And then there are other people you wish to avoid. In her latest novel Why We Click: The Emerging Science of Interpersonal Synchrony, Kate Murphy looks at the science of Interpersonal Synchrony and why we behave the way we do.
We have all wondered why we gravitate towards the people we do. Or why we hate some people right away. Murphy uses data to explain the importance of connections to our survival. And you might learn a few fun facts and learn why people behave the way they do.
The Final Score by Don Winslow

I love any book written by Don Winslow and lucky for us, he has written a new book. The Final Score by Don Winslow is a set of short stories that you will enjoy. And if you haven’t read a book by Winslow, this is the perfect one to make you a fan.
The six stories are about criminals and smart good guys and fun endings. You will be angry that these stories aren’t longer and we don’t blame you. And maybe your wish that Winslow makes some of these into a longer story may come true.
Neptune’s Fortune by Julian Sancton

I love books about past voyages and Neptune’s Fortune by Julian Sancton is the perfect book that encapsulates that. Every year, I end up reading books about voyages and this year, I know I will be reading this book. And unlike other books, this one is set on finding treasure that will make you filthy rich.
Roger Dooley was to find the “biggest treasure in the history of humanity.” And that title belongs to the San Jose, better known by many as the holy grail of shipwreck.” The treasure on this ship would make the you one of the wealthiest people in the world.
But finding this ship is easier said than done. Will Dooley find the ship of legend or will he fail like the countless explorers that came before him. Only by reading this book will you find out what happens!
Queen of Faces by Petra Lord

I love seeing fantasy books make Amazon’s list because it isn’t often that it happens. That means Queen of Faces by Petra Lord must be really good and I will be adding this novel to my reading list. Any time a novel is compared to Leigh Bardugo’s works, I know I am in for a treat.
Anabelle Gage lives in a world where only magical elite are treated like royalty. Everyone else is irrelevant and they are treated poorly. Annabelle is currently stuck in a dull male body that is decaying. Only the privileged can change bodies as needed. And if Annabelle doesn’t get a new body soon, she may wither away and die.
That is why she will do anything to get into Paragon Academy and steal a new body. But she is caught and forced to be choose between execution or become a mercenary. Her survival depends on her new band of renegades that are caught in a battle that will determine if they will die or live to see another day.
Conclusion
As you can see, Amazon’s list of the best books of February has some great picks. I love the variety of genres it has to offer and I am eager to read a bunch of them.
Whether you like nonfiction or fiction, this list has something for you. I will be reading Neptune’s Fortune and Queen of Faces by Petra Lord in the near future, And if I can make time, I will check a few more out from this list.
