Three Classics I Will be Rereading in 2026

I am always trying to read all of the amazing new books that have been released over the past few years that I forget to appreciate the books that I have read. To remedy that, I will be choosing three classics that I will be rereading in 2026. Keep reading to find out what they are! 

As any avid book reader will tell you, their reading list will take years to finish. And by then, we will have added hundreds of books, making this list impossible to finish. But that shouldn’t stop you from rereading books that you enjoyed.

That made me look back at some of my favorite classics and made me decide that I will be revisiting them in the coming months. I enjoyed these classics a lot and think about them often. And I have revisited them in the past before.

But it has been a while since I read them and I figured now is a great time to read them again. Whenever I reread a book, I am able to discover new insight and realize that reading an incredible novel once is never enough.

There are so many amazing books that I have read and I do want to revisit many of them. It is hard because this is definitely a golden age of books and I just want to read all of them. You can see the classics that I will rereading below

To Kill a Mockingbird

The novel that started my love of reading was To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Before this, I would read novels here and there for fun to pass the time. But after reading this novel, I fell in love with reading and had a new appreciation for books.

For many readers, there is usually a moment that helps them discover their love for books and reading. And for me, it was my sophomore English class. Even to this day, I remember that day and ended up finishing the book days before it was assigned to be read. 

To Kill a Mockingbird made me appreciate the classics and started my journey of reading all the time. without this novel, I don’t think I would love reading or classic novels as much as I do. It only takes only one amazing book to make you fall in love with reading!

The Outsiders

The first book I remember capturing my attention was The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. It still amazes me that Hinton started writing this novel when she was 16. Author much older don’t ever get to see this level of success!

We read this book in my English class in 8^th grade and just like To Kill a Mockingbird, I finished it ahead of schedule. I loved everything about this book and didn’t know a novel could be this interesting.

One night out changes the life of Ponyboy. The Socs, a gang of rich kids, enjoy beating up the Greasers, a poor gang that Ponyboy is a part of.

A chance encounter leads to a fight that leads to Ponyboy and his friends running away for their lives. It is up to Ponyboy’s brothers and friends to help them escape trouble and the Socs who want revenge.

The movie adaptation was alright but I connected with the book a lot more. In the coming years, I would find myself revisiting them book often. But I haven’t read it in a while and can’t wait to read it again very soon.

The Count of Monte Cristo

When I first gave The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas a read, I did not know that I would love this novel as much as I did. It is a brilliant book and one that everyone who loves reading should read at least once.

The novel tells the story of Edmond Dantès who has just been named the captain of the ship Pharaon. He plans to propose to his girlfriend but never happens as Edmond is accused of treason and locked up in an island fortress.

After years of imprisonment, Edmond escapes the prison and searches for the hidden treasure that his cellmate hid before getting arrested. Now, with newfound wealth and fame, Dantès seeks to get revenge on the people who falsely accused him and ruined his life.

What I love about The Count of Monte Cristo is that it reads like a soap opera. The drama and plot twists as well as the long plans for revenge would make a few good seasons for any TV show. maybe that is why it is still popular to this day. And who doesn’t love a good revenge story?

It is a long novel with a page count of about 1200 to 1500 pages depending on what version you read. That is why I haven’t read it again but I hope to soon. I’ve read hundreds of novels since I last read it and can’t wait to see what feelings it evokes the second time around.

Conclusion

There are thousands and thousands of new books released every year. But that shouldn’t stop you from rereading your favorite books. And that is what I will be doing in the coming months.

Going forward, I will be rereading one book every month so that I can read new books and revisit my favorite ones. I am eager to see how my favorite classics hold up since my last read. Until next time, happy reading!
