That is why we have chosen mostly fiction books and a timeless self help book that you need to read. Only after reading them will you understand why millions of people love these books. You can see the full list below!
Life Changing Books Everyone Needs to Read
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
- Beloved by Toni Morrison
- The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
- Atomic Habits by James Clear
- The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
- The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
- A Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
The one book I always turn to when a lot is going on is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It is a story about finding yourself and that the treasure isn’t always where you expected it to be. I read this book once a year and will be doing that very soon and you should too!

Toni Morrison is an amazing writer and has many classics under her belt. But Beloved is one that has many consider her magnum opus and a must read. It has changed many people’s lives and storytelling as powerful as this has to be read and shared with everyone you know.
Another fantastic novel is The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead that you have to read. Whitehead has become one of my favorite authors and this is the novel that made me a fan. He is a talented writer and knows how to make his characters feel like someone you have known your entire life.
I don’t know if students are required to read The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger in high school anymore but they should be. While the novel has become outdated, the themes of the novel are still relevant. It is often loved or hated for the same reason but it has a special place in my heart.
Conclusion
That is all for this list of life changing books you need to read. Many of these are classics but there are a bunch of newer novels such as The Underground Railroad and The Midnight Library that deserve a spot on this list.
If you want to make life changing decisions or want to change how you think or feel, then these are just some of them many books to read. Until next time, happy reading!
