As the year comes to an end, we finally have enough data to see what the best selling bonds of the year were. That is why we will be looking at the best selling books in the United Kingdom in 2025!

I am as excited as you are about this list. Covering the U.K’s list of the best selling books will have some surprises. There will be series and authors that are a lot more popular there than in the U.S.

And that is very true as the top selling book is one that not many people outside of the U.K. have read. Richard Osman topped the list and if you don’t know who that is, you are not alone. He is an English television presenter, producer, and novelist and appears on the BBC.

He isn’t the only one that got a boost from his countrymen. Other authors and even a surprising genre made a couple of appearances on the list. You can see the full list below!

• The Hotel Avocado by Bob Mortimer – 210,116 copies

• The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden – 191,804 copies
• You Are Here by David Nicholls – 187,010 copies

The Impossible Fortune, the fifth book in the Thursday Murder Club series, topped the list with 391,429 physical copies sold. Osman makes the top four twice, showcasing n amazing year for him.

In second place was Freida McFadden with her novel The Housemaid. With the adaptation being released in December, it might get a final boost and may even top this list the end of the year.

Suzanne Collins returned to the charts with her novel Sunrise on the Reaping, a Hunger Games prequel. But the author on the list that might have had the biggest year was Rebecca Yarros. She landed three books in the top 20 list and I do no think these novels will drop off the list anytime soon.

Coloring books also made the list which I was surprised to see. They had a moment a few years ago and it is nice to see them doing well again. Coloring books are therapeutic and I am curious if this trend holds true overseas as well.

These are the bestselling books in the United Kingdom in 2025. The data comes from NielsenIQ BookData. I was surprised to see Richard Osman secure two of the top four spots but I shouldn’t be too surprised. The Murder Mystery series is a popular series after all.
