As we near the end of the year, we can look back at all of the amazing books readers read and authors wrote. We can only hope 2024 is half as good as 2023 was for books. And to look back at all the great books, we will be looking at the 13 best books readers loved in 2023 according to Buzzfeed!
I cannot remember a year that was this good when it came to new books. Throughout the year, I have been reading new releases, both popular and lesser known novels and have not run out of books to read. That seems to also be true for many readers.

From titles you will recognize such as Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin and The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides to titles you did not see in your feed such as Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven. The Silent Patient

I recently got around to reading this novel and I have to say the hype around it is real. One reader said that they had to immediately reread it “because of a twist I absolutely didn’t see coming.” And yes, I felt that way to and hope to reread it again soon.
The House in the Cerulean Sea

Another novel that I loved was The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. It is a feel-good book that also has great world building. A reader said that they loved the book a lot. It was so beautiful and positive. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to smile and laugh. My heart feels full just thinking of this book.”
Check and Mate
If you love romance novels, then you are in luck. The list includes a bunch of romance novels and popular authors such as Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood. Check and Mate is a novel that many readers loved. One reader said that they “enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Cute, fluffy, and it made me want to learn how to play chess.” Any novel that makes you want to learn to play chess has to be a good read.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
One of the biggest books of 2022 has to be Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. It is a story about two friends and their relationship and develop a successful videogame. It is not your typical love story but that hasn’t stopped it from being considered the must read novel of 2022!
