Welcome back to our weekly coverage of the most read books of the week according to Goodreads. After a couple of months of dominating the list, we finally have a new number one. Keep reading to find out what books made this week’s list!
This week’s coverage of the Goodreads list ends on May 4th and gave us a full week of data for Emily Henry’s newest book. That was enough time to give Great Big Beautiful Life the number one spot and the title of the most read book of the week!
She has dethroned Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins which is now in second place after two months topping the charts. The question is how long will Emily Henry top this list? If I had to guess, I would say at least a month because Henry is a powerhouse who has made a name for herself over the last 7 years.
In third place is Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez as it falls down a spot. If it wasn’t for the fierce competition, Jimenez would have been the most read. It doesn’t look like this novel will see that achievement but as more readers discover her, she may see this recognition with a future novel.
The Perfect Divorce by Geneva Rose comes in at fourth place. The success of her previous novel The Perfect Marriage has pushed her to new heights and I expect her to stay around for months like the other authors on this list.
Once again, Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros comes in at fifth place. The novel is losing steam but over 3 months later, it is still in the top five which is impressive. I don expect this novel to be the most sold book of 2025. The two other books in the Empyrean series are also on the list, showcasing the staying power of her novels. You can see the full list below!

Jeneva Rose is also starting to see a lot of success and I expect her to also be a mainstay for the rest of 2025. How many of these novels have you read or plan to read?
