Book lovers will be happy to learn that the New Orleans book Destival has announces the authors attending their fourth annual event.

Some of those authors attending include journalists Connie Chung and Bob Woodward, culture critic Roxane Gay and presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. They will be attending the New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University in March from the 27-29th.

“It’s a privilege to welcome such a vibrant and accomplished array of authors at our 2025 festival,” said festival co-chair Walter Isaacson, a bestselling biographer and Tulane history professor.

The festival is free to the public and will include panels, author sessions, and moderated discussions. Last year, there were over 80 sessions over the course of three days at Tulane campus. The Atlantic magazine partnered with the festival and released a list of the greatest American novels and will be there on the opening day for an unspecified event.

2025 is going to have more discussions and moderated conversations, along with lectures and family programming according to Cheryl Landrieu, co-chair, author, and former first lady of New Orleans.

“I’m excited that the festival has been so well received by the community, and that it continues to grow and expand,” said Landrieu. “One thing that’s exciting to us is that we continue to grow our arts and culture piece.”

Fans and spectators will be happy to know that there are also musical performances as well as cooking demonstrations. Last year, R&B legend Irma Thomas performed at the closing event and New Orleans plans to keep that energy from last year.

“We’re going to have another Irma Thomas-level performer this year,” said Landrieu.
