We normally cover the best selling books of the week and wondered why we couldn’t do the same for manga? I like browsing various lists and seeing what is selling well and has piqued the public’s attention. That is why we will be also covering the best selling manga of the week going forward!

The information comes to us from Oricon and this week’s data covers the week of August 12, 2024. The top selling manga of the week was My Hero Academia Volume 41 with almost 200,000 copies sold. The manga is coming to an end and will be drawing a lot of interest in its final manga releases. You can see the rest of the list below!

Popular Manga Dominate the List

After My Hero Academia, coming in second is Chainsaw Man Volume with over 71,000 copies sold. As someone who has watched the anime, I am a big fan and can see the appeal of Chainsaw Man. This manga has ended and the manga series is catching up and should continue selling well until the end of the series.

Coming in fourth place is Jujutsu Kaisen 27 with over 42,000 copies sold. I have read the online manga so I know that the manga release is epic. Like the previous manga mentioned, Jujutsu Kaisen is also nearing its end. The question is what new manga will replace these ones going forward or will we see a spinoff of some of them?
