Fantasy novels are my favorite books to read and I am always eager to see what other readers enjoy reading. An interesting list that I came upon was curated by G+T. Keep reading to see G+T’s 10 best fantasy books of all time and what we think of their list!
What is G+T?
G+T is an online publication that “brings together a curated selection of travel destinations, city guides, art exhibits, architectural wonders, and book recommendations.” They do have a ton of book recommendations. It is up to us to see how good their recommendations are!

- Dune by Frank Herbert

A Modern List
The first thing that stood out to me was that it started off with American Gods. Most times, this novel misses out on lists like these because there are fantasy novels that are just better or more revered. The Wheel of Time series didn’t make this list and I am sure that fans of the series were not happy.
Dune
A novel that jumps out from the sci-fi and fantasy genre has to be Dune by Frank Herbert. Whether or not you have read much sci-fi books, there is a good chance that you heard about this novel.This is a classic novel that has amazing world building and has resonated with many readers over the years. Many critics consider this one of the best sci-fi book ever written.
Other Books to Make the List
There were two surprises on this list for me. The Last Unicorn and Six of Crows were novels I did not expect to see here. I haven’t read The Last Unicorn so I can’t say anything about it but Six of Crows is a fantastic novel. I enjoyed it a lot and it made me a fan of Leigh Bardugo so I have no complains about it.
Conclusion
What did you think of G+T’s 10 best fantasy books of all time list? It has a lot of classic fantasy novels and passes the test in my opinion. I am just a little bit disappointed that The Fifth Season by N.K Jemisin is only at number 5. That literally makes no sense to me, because it is definitely one of the best works of speculative fiction I have ever read. Do give it a try if you haven’t already!
It’s still a book I unfortunately haven’t gotten around to reading. The to read list never seems to get any smaller 😅
