All the Sinners Bleed Summary

Titus Crown is of Charon County, Virginia’s first black sheriff and he knows that many of the residents don’t like him because of that. Things quickly escalate in the town when a former student kills a school teacher in broad daylight. Crown’s police department ends up killing the student but not before he tells them to check the teacher’s phone.

The school shooting ends up leading to secrets being discovered that change everything in the small town of Charon County. Crown and the other police officers have to come to terms that a school teacher they all knew was not who everyone thought he was. And one more person who was working with him is still out there.

And he doesn’t plan to go down without a fight. Can Crown discover who the last accomplice is? And what other dark secrets will come out as a result. Will Charon County survive this crisis and what does this mean for Crown’s future?

While All the Sinners Bleed didn’t win any awards, the novel was loved by many book critics and made a lot of end of year lists such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, New York Times, and Time Magazine. After reading this novel, I wholeheartedly agree and recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller.

Cosby is able to make this town feel like one that we all have visited or heard about. Charon County is portrayed as another character and helps make this novel come to life. The crimes in the novel are harrowing and not for the faint of heart. And we can feel the pain that Crown and the police force feel as they try to come to terms with this information.

I loved Titus Crown and this novel was great from the first page to the last. The topics the novel tackles are relevant in today’s day and age. Cosby is able to navigate sensitive topics and tell a chilling story that book critics and book lovers will be reading for decades to come.
