Fourth Wing is told by the point of view of Violet Sorrengail, a young girl that is forced to enter the battle college and become a dragon rider. But she has made many enemies because of her last name and because she is considered the weakest link by many of her classmates.

One of the people that Violet gets the attention of Xaden Riorson, one of the most powerful students at the at Basgiath War College. Violet’s mother killed his father for leading a rebellion and she is warned to stay away from him. But she can’t help herself and falls for him, knowing just how dangerous that is.

Bonus Fourth Wing Chapters

Most of the novels are told from Violet’s point of view. The bonus chapters, however, are told from Xaden’s point of view. The bonus chapters of 9 and 16 show the events from Xaden’s perspective, showing us what was going on through his mind. These will spoil the novel for you if you haven’t read it so beware!

If you have read Fourth Wing, then you will understand how important this is. For most of the book, Violet believes that Xaden hates her and wants to kill her. But these two chapters show Xaden’s internal monologue. If it was included in the book, a major driving plot would have disappeared.

Third Empyrean Book Release Date Announced

Just last week, Yarros announced the title and release date for the third novel in the Empyrean series. The third book will be called Onyx Storm and will be released on January 14, 2025. Fans can preorder the novel now.
