Today, Observer released their picks of the best new novels released this year. So, keep reading for their list of the best books of 2023!
Like most people, I don’t automatically associate Observer with books. But after browsing their list of the best books of the year, I appreciate them a little more. Their list doesn’t feel like a list of the best books but instead of new books that they enjoyed that they read.

What I mean by that is that there are a lot of obvious choices that didn’t make an appearance. Sure, some of them might not make it but this is just too many. Just like Observer, I enjoyed the books on this list but they wouldn’t be my first picks as the best books of the year.
It just goes to show you that reviewing books and rating them is not easy. Especially this year when so many great new books were released. You can see Observer’s best books of the year below!
