Amazon wants to bring all of your books to one place which is why they have created the Your Books feature. What exactly is the Your Books feature and how does it work? Keep reading to find out!

The goal of the new Your Books feature is to bring all of your books to one place. That includes every book you have bought, borrowed, or saved. And yes, that also includes paperbacks.

Amazon Launches New Your Books Function

As I look at my Your Books page, I love how simple and organized it is. I see books you have purchased on Kindle and print as well as all the books I have borrowed from the Library. You can filter by genre, author, ratings, and format.

It won’t be Amazon without trying to sell you something. The good thing is that you can turn Discovery Mode on or off. It is automatically off when you first open Your Books mode which is nice.

Discover New Books

To open this feature, you can just type “Your Books” into the Amazon search toolbox and it is the first one that show up. Besides your Library function, there is also a Saved Books tab as well as a Notes and Highlights tab.

Any book you have saved on your wishlist will show up on your Saved Books tab. And if you have ever used a Kindle, the you will be familiar with the Notes and Highlights function. It lets you see all of the notes you have highlighted in your Kindle books.

My Thoughts on ‘Your Books’

I think this is a great idea and it looks good. It is obvious that Amazon wants to compete with Goodreads and it isn’t close in the community aspect. But if you use a Kindle, then this is a feature that you will love. It is easy to navigate and isn’t just another way for Amazon to sell you more stuff. Which is still does but not blatantly.

I will be visiting Your Books often and will have to see if it is something that I come to rely on. It is still early to tell if Discovery Mode is any good or how the book recommendations are based on your library. What are your thoughts on Amazon’s Your Books option?
