A beautiful novel about World War two in occupied French and a brave woman who fought back against the Nazi oppression. It is a moving page-turner that will have you at the edge of your bed. One of my all-time favorite reads that made me a huge Kristin Hannah fan!
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Richard Papen has enrolled at the elite Hampden College in Vermont and enrolls in Ancient Greece classes. He befriends five friends and becomes a part of their group. A murder and a dark secret change Richard’s life and turn everyone’s lives upside down.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Santiago has a dream about a treasure and gives up everything he owns and goes on a journey to find and pursue this dream. It is only a dream but he believes it may lead to better things. So he does what we all do when we aren’t sure what to do next; consult a fortune teller. This leads him to a journey where he meets a bunch of people, finds himself and learns a beautiful lesson about life.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
What would happen if we revived dinosaurs and made a theme park where people can visit them? You guessed it, mayhem. This epic novel showcases us why dinosaurs should stay extinct. But you are free to read all about them in fiction novels!
Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
Robert Langdon is summoned to the Louvre to inspect the symbols on a murdered body in the museum. That is the start of his journey that includes solving riddles, follow trials, and hints to discover a secret that will upend modern society as everyone knows it.
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
It is the year 1954 and U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is on a boat with his partner Chuck Aule. heading to Shutter Island, which houses the criminally insane. They were sent to investigate the disappearance of a patient who murdered multiple people. Teddy and Chuck have to find clues and discover her location but strange events make it weird and Teddy doesn’t know who to trust.
Conclusion
As someone as who has read all of these books, I can wholeheartedly say that they are all really good. Depending on your preference, this summer book reading list will keep you entertained!
