For the longest time, everyone wondered what was the deal with the goat room and we finally got some answers in season two’s episode 3. Keep reading as we recap and theorize what will happen next in Severance!
Innie Mark is determined to find Ms. Casey but his team isn’t as enthuastic. Helly and Mark have a moment as they try to figure out their relationship now that they know that Mark is married. The duo retraces their steps and go back to the goat room.
After going through the goat tunnel, they find themselves in a room full of grass and goats everywhere. They meet Lorne (played by Gwendoline Christie) and ask her questions but she isn’t eager to answer them. In fact, she fears for her life.
The mystery of the Mammalians Nurturable department will remain a mystery as we just don’t know enough. But we do know that they obviously fear retribution so they may have done something or know something that makes them fear for their lives.
Outie Mark on the other hand, is trying to figure out if his wife is actually alive or not. He tries to get a message to his innie but is visited by Asal Reghabi and confirms that Gemma is alive. That leads to him agreeing to being reintegrated and we are shown a memory of innie Mark’s first memory.
The episode answers some questions while answering others. Is Helly a double agent? We still don’t know but my guess is that she is. She is clearly not herself and is most likely trying to get information out of Mark.
Dylan and Irving have their own adventures and you can see the group becoming divided. That is most likely Lumon’s plan and they reward Dylan for behaving by letting him see his wife.
Irving learns the location of the red room and we finally learn that it is the Exports Hall. We will most likely find out what that is in Episode 4. What do they export and why has it left an imprint on outie Irving’s mind?
Ms. Cobel does a lot of driving this episode and is almost back at Lumon. But she decided to back out of talking to the board. She may have feared that she was going to be killed and may have been right. Helena did say that she isn’t as important as she thought, making Ms. Cobel realize that she might be in danger.
I did not see Mark being reintegrated as the next move and that was a good twist. Considering that was one of the first main plots of season one, we should have expected that to reappear.
We know that the reintegration was successful and will mostly be seeing Mark’s first memories in the next episode and more questions arise. But I do think we will learn more about project Cold Harbor and what its goal is.
