It is a fact that many readers get their book recommendations from Tik Tok. And it has led to some of them topping the charts. That is why we will be looking at the most popular Tik Tok books of the year!
Whatever your thoughts on Tik Tok are, it is hard to deny their influence when it comes to books. Many of the names on this list will be familiar to you because of Tik Tok’s reach.
Often times, a novel can get overlooked or be given a bad press un. When a person tells you that they enjoyed a novel and recommend it, you are more likely to read it. That is Tik Tok and each Tik Tok video can go viral, getting millions of views and reaching a new audience that will then create their own Tik Toks about the book.

If you love books, then this is a great way to find new books that aren’t being recommended by publications that like certain types of books. There is a good chance few of these novels win awards but that doesn’t make them any less enjoyable. You can see the full list below!

Babel

Published in 2022, Babel is a fantasy novel about language, race, and colonialism. I enjoyed learning about the origin of words as well as identity and how we experience the world through language. R. F. Kuang puts a lot of thought and history into this novel and it shows.
Yellowface

Another novel by Kuang on the list is Yellowface. It was released in 2023 and is about a white author who steals her dead Asian friend’s novel. She even changes her last name to Song and it is a wild journey that tackles the publishing industry and all its shortcomings.
Mexican Gothic

This is a novel that I have seen on many BookTok lists and finally got around to reading and I loved every second of it. Silvia Moreno-Garcia is an amazing author and her writing style is unique and her attention to detail make her novels feel like a trip to another time period.
