Like many readers, I first read To Kill a Mockingbird in school and couldn’t put the novel down. The story is told by the viewpoint of Jean Louise Finch and tells the story of Atticus Finch defending Tom Robinson, a black man who has been accused of raping a white woman in Maycomb, Alabama.

The Kite Runner

A novel that has stayed with me ever since I read it is The Kite Runner. It is a powerful novel about two unlikely friends that takes place in Afghanistan, where the regime is collapsing. Hosseini tackles heavy subjects as love, betrayal, family, identity, and redemption.

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Count of Monte Cristo is an adventure novel unlike anything else. The novel is an epic adventure story that is hard to put down once you start reading it. Who doesn’t love a good revenge story?

And lastly, two amazing novels that any book lover needs to read are Pride and Prejudice and The Book Thief. Only after reading Jane Austen’s brilliant novel will you understand why she is held high in the book world. And The Book Thief will have you in tears and make you appreciate the brilliant narration decision by Zusak.
