The first novel to make out list The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. This was the first of two novels by Whitehead to won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. He is an amazing writer and he is easily becoming one of my favorite authors.
Another novel that has aged well over the years is Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunder. It is considered as the best novel of the decade by some critics. That alone should be enough reason to see what the hype is all about.
