What is a Manga? 

Manga are comics or graphic novels that originated in Japan. Usually, it is in black and white as that is the most cost-effective way of producing them. Manga are common in Japan and have seen a rise in popularity in the recent decades. In the late 2010s, manga started outselling American comics and in 2020, the North American manga market was valued at around $250 million.

Just because there are drawings doesn’t mean manga are easier to read. Many manga tend to have dozens of volumes and are ongoing for years before they conclude. Some manga never see an ending which infuriates fans but poor health and little demand are to blame.
