Good Reading Habits
When you start reading a book, make sure that you read for a at least 15-30 minutes at least. Books take time to get to the good part because they have to set up the scene and plot. After that, the pacing of the book will make you lose track of time as you are immersed in the novel.
Make sure that you don’t have any distractions around you when you are reading. If you have to, put your phone in Do Not Disturb mode and start reading. Set a timer if you have to do something afterwards because if you don’t, there’s a good chance that you will forget about it.
Another way to encourage yourself to read more is to keep track of every day that you read. I know that Kindle tells you every day that you read and that can be encouraging for many people to read more. My favorite is adding books to Goodreads and seeing how many books I read for the year add up!
Conclusion
The journey to becoming an avid reader is not easy. You will most likely read a bunch of books and see which ones speak to you. It may be a specific genre or you may prefer an author that has a way with words. And with good reading habits, you can become a book lover and love reading!
