2023 has been a memorable year for books and that has led to many lists being released. With only 6 months in, this year has already given us dozens of books to read. You can check out the best books of 2023 so far according to Chicago Review of Books.

This list was curated by members of the Chicago Review of Books. As you can guess, they review books all year round. That gives them better insight than most people and this list is evident of that. Many of the books on the list are lesser known books that most publications would overlook. You can see the full list below!

Lots of Lesser Known Books Make the List
It is surprising to come across a list of books from this year and not recognize many of the books of the list. That goes to show you just how many amazing books have been released this year. I have been seeing I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself by Marisa Crane on many lists and it is a novel I will be reading soon!
Another novel that I will be reading on this list is Crook Manifesto by Colson Whitehead. It is the sequel to Harlem Shuffle and that is a novel that you must read! I expect this novel to be even better because Whitehead is a talented writer.
