Books to Check Out
We start off the list with Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. If you took a wild guess at the premise of the novel, you’d be surprised how close you actually got. Imagine a prison system where prisoners were to fight each other which would not only be legal but make money? The debut novel by Adjei-Brenyah sounds like a wild adventure and one that many people will be drawn to.

Another novel that jumps off the list is Yellowface by R. F. Kuang. I loved her novel Babel and can’t wait to read her newest novel. When novelist Athena Liu dies, her Yale classmate takes advantage of an opportunity that presents itself. A plot that feels all too real will have you hooked!
One of the nonfiction books on this list that we chose is King: A Life by Jonathan Eig. It is a biography of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. It includes research files from the FBI and is the most up to date.
