Storm Front Summary
Virgil Flowers is a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigator that is tasked with helping to retrieve a stolen copper scroll that was smuggled to The U.S. This relic was discovered at an archeological site and was stolen the night after it was discovered. Flowers believes this to be boring and simple job but that turns out to be the furthest thing from the truth.

Elijah Jones plans to sell the scroll to the highest bidder but not everyone is willing to pay for it. Some of the bidders resort to violence and Virgil has to prevent anyone from dying. But that proves to be difficult because this case has too many people involved. Everyone seems to have a selfish motive and secrets that can derail this job.
Fake identities and double crossing are just some of the things Flowers has to deal with. A simple job to retrieve the relic has gotten out of control and Elijah Jones is hellbent on selling the scroll no matter the cost. Can Flowers retrieve the scroll and have it sent back to Israel without anyone getting killed?
Commentary
When I chose this novel, I knew nothing about it and didn’t even read the book blurb. I did not know what to expect and I will say, I was unable to put this novel down. I ended up finishing it in a day. Few novels make me want to read them in a day and this novel has made that list.
The Virgil Flowers Series contains 12 books and this is the 7th one. This was the first book in the series that I read and I was not confused. It is able to be a standalone novel and you don’t have to know anything about the previous novels to enjoy this book.
I loved every second of this novel and I am eager to read another book in the series. I may start at the first one and decide to read it in order. Hopefully, I don’t read it in one day because I do want to enjoy and savor it a bit more next time.
Conclusion
If you love a good suspense and thriller novel, then Storm Front is for you! As someone that loves thriller novels, I would rate this pretty high on my list of thriller novels. There is no dull moment in the book and the sequence of events get better as the novel progresses. That is all you can ask for and Sandford delivers. Happy reading!
