Three of the five best graphic novel on our list belong to Alan Moore. He is one of the best if not the best graphic novel writer of all time. It is only right to see him on the list multiple times. There are other graphic novels by Moore that could also have made the list.

The remaining two spots go to The Boys by Garth Ennis and The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes & Nocturnes by Neil Gaiman. Ennis has established himself as a great writer like Moore, he also has a bunch of other works that. could have made the list. such as The Preacher.
Before Gaiman etched his name in stone as one of the best fantasy writers, he made his name writing Sandman. This was his first claim to fame and he has done well since. Sandman went on to win numerous awards and even has a Netflix show airing right now.
