Commentary
I’ve always been fascinated with magical creatures like elves and dwarves but only after reading The Lord of the Rings I became interested in hobbits. It is a peculiar word and I know little outside of Tolkien’s description of them. Still, they are interesting and only Tolkien can make a leisurely creature like hobbits the protagonist of his series and make it an iconic series.
The plot of the Fellowship of the Rings is simple enough yet it works like magic. Everyone likes the idea of setting off on a heroic journey with their friends. The risks are high and new lands await. It is no wonder why so many people love the series and the world Tolkien has built.
Conclusion
Once I read a few pages of this novel, I knew I was hooked. Just who were these hobbits and how will they destroy the ring? Be on the lookout for the review of the second novel soon!
